The Canadian Mountain Network’s (CMN) multidisciplinary adjudication committee met this week to review the applications received for the development of CMN’s Full Application to the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) Funding Competition. The adjudication committee is made up of members from the Research Management Committee and the Indigenous Advisory Council.
CMN would like to thank everyone who submitted applications. Of the 42 applications we received, 14 have been approved. CMN has balanced the budget allocations evenly between the 3 Modes of Research and the approved projects spread out all over Canada. Research teams will be notified shortly on the status of their application.
As CMN moves forward with the Full Application, we will continue to work with all applicants to foster strong working relationships. Applications that were not shortlisted in this round will be eligible for future calls should CMN succeed in the 2019 competition. We intend to continue to work with applicants to strengthen their proposals and involve them in the Network. CMN’s Vision is to become a national and global leader in inclusive, co-designed, interdisciplinary, and Indigenous mountain-research that recognizes the interconnectedness in mountain systems between the environment, economy, and society.
Please note that it is still possible to support CMN at the Full Application stage without submitting a proposal to the Preparatory Call, such as through a Letter of Support.
Thank you again to all those who submitted applications.
