The Canadian Mountain Network (CMN) would like to welcome Dr. Stan Boutin (Biological Sciences, University of Alberta) as CMN’s new Co-Research Director alongside Co-Research Director Norma Kassi (Arctic Institute for Community-Based Research). We would like to thank Dr. David Hik for his valuable contributions to the development of the CMN, he is transitioning to a Special Advisor role with CMNÂ as he prepares to move to Simon Fraiser University in the fall.
The Canadian Mountain Network (CMN) has made an important change to the leadership team. As a result of David Hik’s impending move to Simon Fraser University, Professor Stan Boutin (Department of Biological Sciences, University of Alberta) will take over the Co-Research Director position. David remains involved in the CMN as a strategic advisor.
David has played a pivotal role in bringing the CMN to where it is today. His vision and leadership have helped create a national movement. There is real excitement that we can do it — that mountains can bring the research community together in an unprecedented way, setting an example that reflects the multi-dimensionality that is Canada.
Thank you for your understanding and support. There are 3.5 months left until the submission date, and a lot of work remains to be accomplished. I am confident that we have an outstanding leadership team in place.
