Life as an intern with the Nature Conservancy of Canada

As the former communications intern for the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s (NCC’s) Saskatchewan Region, I spent most of my summer at my desk, while our five other interns spent most of their time in the field. Before the summer ended and we went our separate ways, I caught up with my fellow interns to get an idea of what they do when they leave the office and why they do it.

A day in the field at the Alfred-Kelly Nature Reserve

After a bit of planning, I joined Arigna Luangphachaleun, one of NCC Quebec Region’s stewardship interns, for a routine day in the field at one of our properties in the region. That day, I came home not only with rosy cheeks and a few mosquito bites too many, but also with a better understanding of what conservation actually means.
