Canadian Mountain Network Webinar: Networks of Centres of Excellence

On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, the Canadian Mountain Network hosted a webinar presenting revised Mountain NCE research themes and will look for input on the development of a Letter of Intent (LOI) that is due November 15, 2017 to the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) competition.

Networks of Centres of Excellence is a Federally-funded program designed “to mobilize Canada’s research talent in the academic, private, public, and not-for-profit sectors and apply it to the task of developing the economy and improving the quality of life of Canadians.” The LOI will determine which applicants will be invited to submit full applications.

Topics of discussion included the various components of the LOI. These include but are not limited to the following:

The revised list of five research themes;
The three modes of doing research;
Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) Programming;
Knowledge and Technology Exchange and Exploitation;
Excellence of the research program;
Networking and Partnerships;
Overlaps.

The CMN invites your feedback regarding the LOI. Please provide any feedback via our Webinar Feedback Form found here
