The Canadian Mountain Network is funding the development of at least funding at least six place-based knowledge hubs, which will receive $100,000-$300,000 per year (or $300,000 – $900,000 total over the three years) for a total of $3.4 million over 3 years.
The deadline for Letters of Intent (LOI) has now been extended to January 20th, 2021 (midnight MST).
About the knowledge hubs
These knowledge hubs are centers of activity that bring together diverse participants with shared priorities and objectives that include complementary research, training, knowledge mobilization, and networking activities. The hubs are situated within or across six biocultural landscapes (see below) and are expected to advance the role of both Indigenous and Western ways of knowing, doing and being in evidence-based decision making.

The knowledge hubs will also actively engage Indigenous communities, youth, elders, and knowledge holders to foster the co-development of research agendas, leading to learning and teaching among all knowledge stakeholders.
So far, the Expression of Interest (EOI) phase (completed as of Nov. 6th, 2020) identified over 100 individuals and organizations interested in contributing to a maximum of 6 CMN knowledge hubs. CMN has now moved on to the Letters of Intent (LOI) phase where applications are to be submitted by January 20, 2021, by individuals and organizations willing to lead a place-based knowledge hub.
Please note that EOI submission is not a requirement for LOI eligibility.

We encourage individuals and organizations considering submission of a LOI to request a contact list of potential contributors identified through the Expression of Interest (EOI) phase (completed November 6, 2020; EOI submission is not a requirement for LOI eligibility).
